Scaling

Caling, also known as dental cleaning, is a common dental procedure that is performed at MGM Dental and other dental clinics. Scaling involves the removal of plaque and tartar from the teeth and gums to prevent gum disease and tooth decay. During a scaling procedure at MGM Dental, a dental hygienist or dentist will use specialized tools to remove the buildup of plaque and tartar from the surfaces of the teeth and below the gum line. Plaque is a sticky film that forms on the teeth when bacteria in the mouth combine with saliva and food particles. If not removed, plaque can harden into tartar, which can lead to gum disease and other dental problems.

Scaling is typically performed as part of a regular dental checkup and cleaning. The procedure is painless and typically takes between 30 minutes to an hour to complete, depending on the amount of buildup on the teeth.
